We celebrated Jay's birthday this weekend, my sweet husband is now 24 years old! We started off the festivities Saturday, which is his actual birthday, so it makes sense. Jay had to go to work that morning at 5, so I put some sticky buns in for him to have a yummy breakfast. But because my brain doesn't turn on that early, I made them with way too much butter, and they were soggy. Way soggy. So that sucked. But he pretended they were good, and left for work. I didn't even know that I'd made a mistake until I went to try one about 7 and spat it out cause it was so gross. And I guess I can't use the accuse that my brain wasn't on at 5 since I really put everything on them the night before...I guess my brain turns off about 10 at night.
Jay got home from work about 8 or 9 and I started to make some jello, and pudding (tapioca and vanilla) for the dessert I was making Sunday for our families' party. Which I messed up the tapioca pudding...I was making it from scratch at least. It called for 2 3/4 cups of milk. I added 3/4 cup of milk. I see the problem with this now. Oh, and I was doubling the recipe, this makes it really short on the milk. Turns out, that I now know how to make some really good "GAK". But it doesn't taste good. Anyway, so after I finished with my, ummm..."cooking" I had Jay open his presents. I got him a massaging chair, cause he gets sore backs and I only will rub his back a few seconds before I get bored and tired of it. Although, thinking about it now, he does it for me until I get tired and bored of it...which always last way longer. Huh, so I guess I should do the same for him...well, now the chair can it all! And I got him a cute baby outfit that says "I love daddy" on it. Okay, so it's not really for him, but I think he liked it anyway. And since only the girls clothes say "I love daddy" and the boy clothes say "I love mommy" I got the pink one. So, if we have a boy, he'll either have to wear a little pink, or I'll have have to go over it with a blue magic marker.
We then got ready to head to Logan for my niece, Rylee's birthday party. We packed our overnight bag and dropped Lola off to Jay's parents to be dog-sat for the rest of the weekend.
Rylee birthday party was a lot of fun, and she's getting so big. She turned 2! (On Sunday) She was so fun to watch open presents and tell everyone about her latest owie.
We left Logan to head to Jay's work for a stay in a SUITE!:) It was so fun to be in a nice, big room, and order room service and watch movies together. We both have had a cold, so we really enjoyed taking it easy and just relaxing and popping our Tylenol.
Sunday, after we got home and after I remade the tapioca pudding, we headed to Jay's parents' for lunch, followed by my parents for dinner, then had everyone over to our house for dessert. As I was putting the dessert together, {TRUFFLE} I realized that I screwed up yet another thing. The vanilla instant pudding. Apparently, you make it with MILK and not WATER, or it's really runny. At this point, I decided I'm no good in the kitchen!! I can't even make the simplest of things! But we had a lot of fun with our families and Jay had a great birthday! Even without vanilla pudding! :)
If I think about it, I'll add some pictures...
