So yesterday while Jay was slaving away to make a honest living to provide for his loving, church-going family, our car (Rav 4), was cruelly broken into. The burglar used a big rock and first attempted smashing in the passenger side back seat window. When he didn't have success he moved to the other side of the car, the driver side back seat window, and tried his strength again, but to no prevail. His attempts, left about 5 big chips on both sides. Then our burglar tried, and even succeeded, in smashing the driver side back seat half window. (Um, so that's kinda confusing. It's the part of the window that doesn't roll up and down behind the part that does. Clear? Probably not, but I'll move on.) So the thief brakes the glass into a million pieces. The sharp glass goes EVERYWHERE. He reaches his sneaky little hand over to the door, unlocks the door and let's himself in. Then the robber takes what he's worked so hard for, Jay's bag for school with his books and assignments in it. (Yes, we know it's our fault for leaving the bag in sight to seduce cold hearted people who walk around parking lots, with big rocks in hand looking for an easy victim to steal things from. Oh and which brings me to another thing, Jay parks by the back door where no one else parks and no one even walks by, so this criminal walked way out of his way to check our car for goods.)
So with his hard-earned prize in hand, the satisfied crook skips away. He stops a minute later to see what he's won himself. What he finds is school books, and school work. He's disappointed in the bag and it's contense. What is school books going to do for him? He already knows what he needs to. So he throws the bag down a muddy hill and leaves and crime scene alone and empty handed.
Jay also parks where there is two cameras watching and ready to tape any felons. So Jay watched the tapes with a sad, heavy heart. Waiting for any clues. He was fortunately able to recover his bag and school belongings with minimal damage. And take comfort that nothing else was stolen that we looked over. Jay's turning the tapes into the police so they can do their investigations. Hopefully this man serves a life sentence in jail, rotting away and thinking of this wrong.
