Falling in LOVE

I met Jay in November of 2006 while I was working at Deseret Book. He and his friend came in shopping for a CTR ring and to pass some time waiting for a movie to start at the movie house close to the mall. I noticed them come in and begin to look around and rome the store. Jay at the time was in the play, Savior of the World and was sporting a beard and longer hair for his part. I was drawn to him, and asked him several times if he needed any help, and if he did, for him to be sure to find me. I was maybe a little flirty.:) Jay is very quiet and didn't say a lot, but I love a challenge! I helped him pick out his CTR ring and talked to him about music, why they had come in, (his friend he was with had just gotten baptized and they were going to a movie) why he wanted a CTR ring, (the one he had had, was stolen on his mission) where he went on his mission and some about him. As they were checking out, and I made sure I helped him. I signed him up for a membership for Deseret Book's rewards club, taking his name, phone number and address so that I could talk to him longer, and know more about him. Sneaky huh? As they were leaving, (the store was closing....and late because I kept them there.) I mentioned a concert and suggested we go together. He said he'd like to go and was walking away, when I said, aren't you going to get my number then?

Our first date was Thanksgiving. He wasn't able to make it to the concert (By the way it was a Aquabats and SUPERHERO concert! Yea Dean!!) because it was a night that the play was running, but had left the cutest message ever saying he would really like to do something another time. We texted that day about what are families were doing, and he was so funny! I wanted to see him soon, so I invited him to come over that night and play games with my family. A pretty scary first date, but he fit right in. He teased my brothers and was so polite to my grandparents, yes, my WHOLE family was there. I didn't want him to leave!! From there, we dated pretty constant. I had him over to play pool, we went to movies, I met his family and all the dating fun stuff.

After Christmas, Jay moved to Logan, he had committed before we started dating on a job and apartment. I hated him being so far away! We still saw each other a few times a week, but I was hard and dangerous driving with all the snow and ice. He finally moved back in with his parents in May. I was so happy!! And we were engaged shortly after, May 19th.

I loved planning the wedding. We had a planting party with our friends and family at the reception site that was so fun! I loved going with my mom and friends to try on dresses and find "my perfect dress!" I loved picking out the songs, photographer, videographer, flowers, cake and all the other details. And Jay was so sweet to help (mind you, I had all veto power) I was so happy be getting married to Jay, and everything fell into place wonderfully!
