Our Family Now - About US

Jay and I are very happy together and enjoy being married very much. We are living in East Layton now in a basement apartment that we love. We are renting from a sweet couple, Jim and Linda, that are always making sure things are working well for us and are very kind. The other night, our dishwasher flooded, and they were so nice to help get it fixed and loaned us a lot of towels that really was very helpful. (We'd already had all of ours down and soaked!)

Jay and I are usually at work, Jay works at the Davis Conference Center and has recently hit his one year mark. He manages all the auto-visual stuff that goes on and does a great job. He really enjoys the people he works with and I love that it's close to home. Another thing I really enjoy about his job is that about once a quarter Jay has to stay over night in the hotel, and of course, I join him. He has to rate the room service and some other stuff, and he's kinda on call if something goes on that needs a manager. But mostly is left alone and we get to enjoy room service, movies that are playing at the theaters but in the comfort of a room, and breakfast, and don't pay for any of it! It's a lot of fun!

I work at Christensen Endodontics in Syracuse, which is a dental office that specializes in root canals. I only work with two people, the Dr. and the assistant. I'm the receptionist, and I like it there, but I do wish it was closer. I'm a baby about driving.

We are movie-junkies. We really enjoy seeing movies, and we see a lot of movies when they come out, usually opening weekend. Recently, we've seen:

Kung Fu Panda - We had different opinions, He liked it, I thought it was only Okay
Iron Man - We both loved!! It was AWESOME!!! SEE IT!!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - Not what I was hoping for....
What happens in Vegas - Wouldn't recommend.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - We both really liked it, but didn't follow the book.
And Jay's probably going to the Incredible Hulk this weekend. (I'll let you know his review!)

We are looking forward to:
Get Smart - We love Steve Carell (Yea Office!!), and this movie is coming out next weekend, June 20th
Hancock - Coming out July 2nd, we'll probably be there!
Batman: The Dark Knight - Coming out July 18th - we'll be in Florida with my family, but are trying to arrange a showing...

Jay knows every actor and actress and can quote any movie, say any line and he usually can tell you the movie and who's in it. He gets this from his dad. His whole family knows all the movies. It's pretty amazing.

We also love spending time with our families. We go over to their houses all the time and they are really nice, and let us hang out and eat their food!! We go over for many dinners, family home evenings, to watch movies, make dresses (Well...I don't make em - get dresses made.) and just to visit. We love living so close to both of our parents and try to take advantage of seeing them often. Plus our house is really quite, and there is something always going on when we visit, which is how we both grew up, so it's a nice home feeling.

I love to play indoor soccer and even got Jay to join my team for a session. It was so fun to play together and I'm hoping that he'll play with me again. We got together some of our married or almost married friends, and had a couples team. It was so funny to see how each couple watched out for each other, if one of them took a hit, the other one would seek revenge!! P.S. Our team name was the Dundies! (Yea Office!!)

We have tired to pick up walking and bike riding recently. Mostly to give us something to do together, but we like the idea of exercise too. We've rode around our neighborhood to kinda try to meet our neighbors and work on those farms' tans but we're going to have to be more diligent if we want abs on steal! We've walked or rode to Jay's parents a few times, but usually stay for a while and then it gets dark, and the mosquitoes come out! So we catch a ride home.

I try to scrapbook in my spare time, and wish I did it more often. I love pictures and being able to enjoy them. I also have a lot of scrapbook buddies and it's so fun to get together and see their ideas! Twice a year, the scrapbook expo comes and I HAVE to go!! It's better than Christmas!!! The first year I went I cried because I was so excited to see all the amazing scrapbook stuff you could buy!

Jay is really good with building things and fixing things. He's very handy to the make stuff I want. When we were dating, he built shelves for my closet and stuff together for my mom, and he put all of our future together, (well I kinda helped!) He made me, as a wedding gift, a doll house that I really love and wants to make more. He just inherited a really cool magazine/book from my Grandpa of really cool Victorian style houses and wants to model his doll houses after them, which is what my Grandpa did too and why he had it. He made beautiful doll houses that I wish I could live in! I'm excited that Jay wants to make them and love the idea of him making any future daughters we have a doll house!

One of our favorite things to do together is make breakfast! We love pancakes and waffles and crapes and french toast and fruit and eggs and bacon and cream cheese and juice and all breakfast foods! And it's so fun to make it together and then eat it together. We also like to make it for anyone else, so if you ever want a breakfast date - your on!!

Our favorite TV shows are the Office (Yea Office!) and Law and Order. We have seen every office episode, and think that it is hilarious! We sing "Ryan started the fire" and want Jim to purpose already! We think that think that a staple in jello or nickels in a phone-hand set are genius ideas. At work I pretend that I'm Pam, but I'm glad my boss isn't like Michael. I'd also want to get a big bouncy ball for my desk to improve on reflexes. We are sad to see Toby leave, he was a favorite.:( And if we ever have a problem, we'd definitely call Eliot and Olivia to investigate. We know that they could bring us justice, kick butt and look good doing it!
