With all the wedding planning, I was quite busy. And when it came to the honeymoon, I wasn't sure where I wanted to go when Jay asked. All I knew was somewhere that was perfect. I thought that he could manage to plan that! How hard could perfection be? I told him I wanted to go somewhere I hadn't been, and somewhere I wouldn't have to get a passport to, since it was taking forever to get passports, and I was afraid he'd take me to Ukraine. (Jay served his mission there, and one day I'd like to go, but not for our honeymoon.) Our first night as husband and wife, we stayed at Jay's work, don't worry he works kinda at a hotel. Anyway it's the Hilton in Layton, it was nice to be staying somewhere kinda close since we didn't get there till maybe 10:00 or so. In the morning, I begged Jay to finally tell me where we were going! He gave me the flight information, it said St. Thomas Island!! I was so very excited! But did not know where St. Thomas was! The "Island" part is what I really liked!(For those of you who aren't sure where St. Thomas is, like I wasn't, it is part of the Virgin Islands! and also for those of you who don't know, the Virgin Islands are US owed.) We flew out the night after our wedding, with plans to stay a week or maybe longer if we decided we didn't need our jobs, and we could live off the island. We stayed at a cute little bed and breakfast hotel that was at the top of a ton of stairs...getting our suitcases up them up and dying from how hot and humid it was, wasn't the favorite part of the trip. But it was great exercise! We loved walking around and exploring the different shops, restaurants and areas of the island. We bought new St. Thomas beach towel and went to the beach one day and really loved swimming in the Ocean. Jay met a family that was from Ukraine even! One day we went with a group canoeing, hiking and snorkeling. It was so fun! We raced hermit crabs, someone got stung by something in the water, and it poured down rain! It felt so good cause it was so warm! It was great! We also learned a lot about the port, and how it was a safe harbor. Our trip was so much fun and we loved being together. Although we wanted to stay, we were excited to leave to start our new life at home!
