This last weekend with went up to Tony's Grove for a Family Reunion with Jay's family. We had a blast! We took my brother Kyle with us too, for his last summer adventure - poor kid started school today!
We got up there about 6:00 or so Saturday night just in time for a yummy dutch oven dinner!! We also had a yo-yo contest, which I found out I could yo-yo! I'd never really tried growing up,
we had "pongs" in elementary, not yo-yo's. Jay set up camp, well if you'd call it that...we have a tiny tent. Our air mattress barely fit! Luckily Jay's parents had room in their tent for Kyle, or we would have had really tight quarters. During the night, I had to go to the bathroom. (Yea for flushing toilets! We were lucky enough to have this luxury.) It wasn't too far from our campground and I had been there a few times already so I decided not to wake up Jay. BAD IDEA. I've been sick, and so at night, I've been taking Night-Quil to help me sleep, but it makes me very drowsy and kinda out-of-it. So I put on my shoes, and struggled to get up out of our tent but manage and grabbed our little flashlight. Our flashlight, was horrible. It barely lit the ground in front of me, so I couldn't see very good.
So I head to where I think the bathrooms ought to be. After a while, I realize that I've gone too far...but I have no clue where I should have turned, or where I was, and I can't even think straight anyway! So I'm walking around in someone else's camp, tripping over everything, and really needing to pee!! I luckily pass someone who is still awake, this is all taking place about 3:00 or so in the morning. So I ask him if he knows where the bathrooms are, which he tells me, but I still didn't know where he was talking about, so he was kind enough to walk me to the bathrooms and from there I was able to find our campground. I went and checked on Kyle hoping to prevent him from having a similar experience, but all seemed well, so I went back to my tent and told Jay what had happened, which only made him feel bad (sorry babe!).
In the morning, we talked to Kyle and he also got lost during the night. Poor guy! He didn't have a flashlight so he went to get ours, and couldn't find our tent. He said he was out for about a half hour, which is probably a bit of a stretch but I still feel horrible that he got lost. It also rained so he got drenched and so did a lot of other people, we stayed dry! We helped with Breakfast by cutting up fruit and cleaned up and left to get Kyle back for 1:00 church.
