Her name is Lola

I have already confessed to my absolute obsession of loving puppies, and because of the obsession, I have become addicted to ksl.com's classifieds. I really wasn't planning for anything, I was just "looking." The ones that I liked the most were yorkies, most are listed around $800 - $1000 so really not do-able for us right now.

Well...yesterday, as I took one of many looks for the day, I founld the cutest little puppies listed. Which has really happened probably every day since I started looking, but these were listed in Layton, and were in a reasonable price range, not yorkies, but still cute. I called the lady selling them and schedule to "see" them. (For the record and clarification, I really only wanted to see them.) But I'm not sure why, maybe her ears or her little nose or her cute little face altogether, but we ended up taking her home with us.

We weren't sure if we should get her, and we were going to leave, when the lady suggested taking her home as "a trail run" (tricky lady...) I thought that was a great idea! I could get in my puppy loving and snuggling, and if things weren't going to work out, I could bring her back to her brothers and sister and mom, and she'd be happy without us, and she could find another home.

Well...so we take her home, but first stop by Jay's family's house to show them. My mother-in-law, Lynda took the puppy and didn't want to give her back!! Lynda loves puppies! And everyone else came to see our new "temporary"addition. They have 2 labs and they liked her too!

Then we went to our house for some play time all to ourselves. It ended up that I held the puppy and laid of the couch and Jay made dinner...He's so good to me!!

We went to my parents to get a kennel and to show everyone there. It took my dad quite a while to realize I was holding a puppy! And my brothers loved her, until my mom suggested someone needed to take her out to potty. Brad stepped up but I don't think he loved the idea.

The kennel training is a little problematic, coming from two different families this stuff comes up sometimes...but I wanted a kennel and Jay didn't like the idea. For once, Jay got his way. We tried a basket instead. And she did surprisingly well for the first night. She went right to bed and woke up once, about 2:00. I took her potty and brought her back to "bed" and then I did the same, potty then bed. She whined but only for a little while. Then she woke up about 5:30 to the alarm, Jay took her potty and then he decided he doesn't want to go into work that early, so he puts her back to bed, and comes back to bed himself. She whined for a while, but it wasn't too bad.

Getting ready for work did take a little longer and I was late. Jay and I both came home at lunch to see how she was doing. If we didn't have to leave her alone all day, she wouldn't have to be a "temp." We looked everywhere for a mess and I thought for sure there would be one, but there wasn't! Who-raw!! She hasn't had one yet! She's really good about going when we take her.

Tonight we're taking her to the park for my soccer game, and maybe a bath...she's kinda smelly. I'm still unsure if going to be a permanent or a temporary situation...but she's a doll!

She was a little scary being away from her mom and brothers and sister, so I didn't take too many pictures, and none of them do her justice...you'll just have to see her in person!! (And soon if she's only temporary...) She is a chi-peek-a-poo. And her name is Lola.

She was a showgirl... Ha ha! I think you should keep the puppy, or at least until Sunday or Monday so we can see it in person and judge for ourselves. IF you keep a puppy, then we can visit it sometimes and I won't feel like I have to get one for my kids!!! I like that idea! If I lived closer I would offer to puppy sit for you during the day. You should see if Lynda wants to add her to her day care! I'm sure that Logan and Rylee would love her - She is very cute!
